University of Houston Cullen College of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering

Another exciting academic year begins at the Cullen College’s Electrical and Computer Engineering department. We are welcoming two new faculty members, Dr. Jiefu Chen and Dr. Miao Pan, and our enrollment just passed 850 students, our highest ever. Our research continues to make headlines and our faculty and students continue to win competitive grants, awards and fellowships. We are looking forward to the grand opening of our state-of-the-art Multidisciplinary Research and Engineering Building (MREB) next year. A special welcome to my colleagues in the Southwest ECE Department Heads Association — we look forward to your upcoming visit. I am also looking forward to filling three new faculty openings this year. Read more about all of this news and more below!
